REMOTE ACCESS
What is Remote Access?
Remote access extends access to your in-library electronic databases to
library patrons in their homes and offices.
What do patrons need to get remote access?
Patrons need a valid library card and access to the Internet.
What resources are available to patrons through remote access?
*Proquest Direct
*Ebsco Host
*Ethnic Newswatch
*Gale Literary Databases
*EmpireLink's Health Reference Center
*Country Watch
Access to additional resources may be added at a future time. These resources
could include databases that the Kent Library subscribes to individually
How do patrons get remote access?
Go to the Kent Library's home page, and click on
"Access From Home" logo to get to the page. Click on the access
button on the bottom of the page, one for the regular edition, and one
for the Kid's and Junior editions of the same product. You will be prompted
to enter your library card number. Once validated, you will see a listing
of the databases available to you.
What happens if a patron's card is not valid?
If a patron enters a library card number that is incorrect or in some
other way invalid, they will see a screen that suggests they either retry
entering their library card number or contact their local library.
