All books for (except some new titles), audiocassettes, books on CD, magazines, and puppets from Kent Public Library's collection are available for a four-week loan period.  All Playaway Views and DVDs are available for seven days. Materials borrowed from other libraries through Request-A-Title may have different loan periods. Check your receipt for the due dates or call us at 845-225-8585 if you are not sure. You can also check your library card record through the online library catalog.

Fines

Fines for all Kent materials except Playaway Views and DVDs are 10 cents per day with a maximum fine of $2.00 per item.  Fines for Kent Playaway Views and DVDs are $1.00 per day with a maximum fine of $10.00 per View or DVD. Fines for materials belonging to other libraries may vary.

All books and magazines that are not reserved for another patron may be renewed twice. All DVDs, Music CDs, Books on CD and Playaways that are not reserved for another patron may be renewed once. A patron can renew online by logging in to the online catalog and using his or her library cards.

Library Services

Interlibrary Loan & System Holds (Request-A-Title)

Books and magazine articles not available at the Kent Library may be borrowed from other libraries through the library's interlibrary loan network.  Fill out a request at the circulation desk; the item will be requested by the Interlibrary Loan clerk, and a call will be made when the item is received. Patrons may also reserve books from home using this web site. See Library Catalog. All patrons, including children, are welcome and encouraged to use this system.
